What we collect
When you send an enquiry through the form on this site, we collect the name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), the trip you are asking about, and the content of your message.
We do not collect anything else automatically. This site does not use advertising trackers, and it does not embed third-party social media scripts.
The interactive tools on this site (the packing checklist, the gear weight calculator and the fitness test) run entirely in your browser. Your answers are never sent to us and are lost when you close the page.
Why, and on what legal basis
We use your enquiry details for one purpose: to answer your enquiry and, if you go on to book, to arrange your trip. The legal basis is your consent when you submit the form, and thereafter the performance of a contract if you book.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for marketing unless you separately ask us to.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted after [CLIENT TO SUPPLY] months. Booking records are kept as long as Danish bookkeeping law requires, which is five years from the end of the financial year.
Who else sees it
To run your trip we share the details necessary for your booking with the refuges and guesthouses you will stay at. That is normally your name and the dates of your stay.

Your rights
You have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Write to info@hikingfriends.dk and we will respond within one month.
