Who you are contracting with

Your booking is confirmed when we confirm it in writing, not when you submit an enquiry.
Cancellation

The largest part of your payment goes out to refuges as advance bookings, which is why cancellation terms tighten closer to departure. We will send the complete terms in writing before you pay anything.

Insurance is mandatory
You must hold travel insurance covering hiking to at least 3,000 metres, mountain rescue including helicopter evacuation, and medical repatriation. You must be able to show it before departure. The EU health insurance card does not cover Switzerland, which is on the route, and does not cover mountain rescue anywhere.
What self-guided means
Our trips are self-guided. No guide accompanies you on the trail. We plan the route, book and pay for every night, brief and train you before departure, provide GPS routes and offline maps, and are reachable by phone 24 hours a day for the duration of your trip. On the trail, you navigate and you make the decisions, including the decision to turn back.
You are responsible for assessing conditions on the day and for walking within your ability.
